Confisco Grille Islands of Adventure As a new (Premier) Passholder and seeing this is a “passholder establishment” I decided to eat here, for my first (Universal Orlando sit down) meal. As stated on the UO website: “Confisco Grille Your exclusive dining room is located upstairs and is available now through June 30, 2021 from 12:00pm until thirty (30) minutes before park close. For current menu selection, call (407) 224-FOOD, or visit the venue.” I arrive at 1240p (with a reservation for 1p) hoping I could get in early. It started pouring. I was able to get seated rather quickly. I was taken upstairs and seated at a table next to a window with a view of Hogwarts. It would have been a better view had it not been raining. Order was placed for the Thai Summer Rolls and Udon Noodle Soup . The waitress asked if I wanted them served at the same time or as an appetizer and a meal. I let her know appetizer and meal and she stated she would put the rolls in, wait 8 minutes then place the order for the soup. As I'm sitting at my table, scrolling through Instagram and Facebook when the server brings my soup. Not sure why but I was a little confused. I informed her that I had also ordered Thai Summer Rolls and they were to come out first. She looked at me a bit confused and said she would check on that. The server placed soup down and I had no words. The soup looks .... old. Like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. A soup rim around the inside of the bowl. The egg looked a little dry. Veggies overcooked. I decided to try it. S A L T Y. Couldn't taste any beef / pork flavor. The noodles were chewy. The pork was fatty and chewy. I know pork belly is fatty but there wasn't hardly any meat on these bones. The veggies were definitely over cooked, soggy. The only part of the soup I enjoyed was the mushrooms. The waitress comes over and asks where my rolls are. I told her they weren't served first, the server was going to check on them, she tells me she put the soup in 8 minutes after the rolls. She asked if I wanted to return the soup for the rolls. I said no that it was fine thinking if I did she would bring the rolls, the soup would sit even longer. About 10 minutes into my soup the server brings the Summer Rolls. By the looks of these I am not going to enjoy these either. I am slowly regretting choosing this restaurant. The Thai Summer Rolls are served in a bowl. The rolls are place on Bib lettuce. One roll is cut I half and the other is whole. The side slices look good. Peanut Butter with chopped nuts and hoisin sauce with black and tan sesame seeds. The roll starts to fall apart as I pick it up. The rice paper is ripped (on both). They are wet. Cold. Sort of slippery. The rolls are made of Bibb lettuce , avocado , cellophane noodles, carrots , cucumber , and radish. I've had this type of roll before and these were bland. No flavor. I don't like peanut sauce but thought I'd give it a try. Nope still don't like it. Dunked into the hoisin sauce. This is not the hoisin sauce I think it is. It's spicy and watery. Nope. Didn't like that other. I'm finished. I can't finish either the soup or the rolls. I clear my area and the waitress brings the check and asks if I have any discounts. Guess no dessert? She brings my revised check back. She had them take off the summer rolls. I was not pleased with this restaurant at all. Thoughts of not returning but will give them another try. Just left a bad taste in my mouth.
