Can I just start off by saying …. DISNEY IS OPEN!!!!
So excited to get back to the parks. Back to the quick service food stops. Back to the restaurants. Back to all the wonderful meals and snacks. And cupcakes.
So far since the opening I have been to Be Our Guest and Yak & Yeti. Food at both was absolutely delicious. Today we will talk about Y & Y.
After I had made reservations at Yak & Yeti I posted in a Disney group that it was my first time going and what would everyone recommend. Over 250 later this was my chosen meal
Busy, Busy, Busy.
With this being my firs time there I didn’t realize how popular this place really was. I had reservations for 12:00p. Other people were walking up hoping to walk in and were told they were booked or they just decided not to wait.
I really enjoyed the decor. I am a big Asian decor fan and was excited to see everything. The statues. The plants. The window coverings. All of it.
I started my meal off with an order of Pan Fried Pork Dumplings. This was served with a soy lime dipping sauce. Five dumplings with sauce and sprinkled with chive slices.
I just love crispy, pan fried dumplings. I could eat SO many. The crunch. The softness. All wrapped in one. The pork was tasty. Some pork, some cabbage. Dipped in the soy lime sauce. The sauce was …. tangy yet salty. Different every time. More salt than tangy than the next would be more tangy than salty. I guess it really depends on where it fell on your tongue.
Kobe Beef Burger
10oz grilled American Kobe Beef, sesame soy dressing, crispy fries. Topped with shiitake mushrooms & scallions compote or Asian Slaw. Added cheddar.
This burger was huge. I know it was10 ounces but was not expecting it this large. No I did not finish it LOL! The burger was prepared perfectly. Nice and rare. Asian slaw, there was some bacon (not listed on the menu), mushrooms, onions as toppings. I do not normally cut burgers in half but due to the size of this one I actually had no choice. Oh it looks so good.
Meat was tender. Seasoned. Juicy. Not dry at all. Bun was a bun. Asian slaw? Hmmmm Honestly not sure if I liked it or not. It was more of a salad than a slaw. More lettuce than cabbage. Some carrot. Most of the burger was eaten with the slaw and some without. I may have liked it better without the slaw. Yup I think I did. Yes it came with fries but the fries …. I had one and that’s it. They were room temperature and just not appetizing. Even with ketchup.
Oh My!! This. is. delicious. Absolutely delicious. The sweetness of the honey vanilla and pineapple with the cream cheese and the crunch of the wonton. Oh yes I could have had 2 servings of these. The pineapple was grilled. This was not expected but it was very good with the wonton. I dipped one or two in the ice cream and decided it was better with just the drizzle and pineapple.
Overall the meal was very very good. Very filling. The dumplings I could eat a numerous amount of. The burger was huge and not all of it was eaten-only because it was so much. And the wontons I could eat 2 servings. Huge fan of the decor. Staff was very happy and pleasant. Yes. Yes I would go again and again and try something different every trip.
