We arrived at Toothsome, no reservation, and was told it was about a 15 minute wait. We gave our phone number and they text you when they are ready to seat you. In the meantime, we explored the gift shop. There are so many unique, steampunk themed items from chocolates galore, liquid candy, t-shirts, mugs, homemade macaroons and ganache squares, the list could go on and on!! We were just finishing up walking around and drooling, when the text came through saying our table was ready. We were seated at our table, on the first floor, (did not know that they had a second floor...lol) with a limited all day menu, brunch menu (also available all day), and libations menu. There is also an outside patio with tables and they do ask you if you would prefer inside or out, but I digress. Our server greeted us promptly, while bringing wrapped silverware, platter, and plastic bag that you could use to put your masks in, while you ate. She took our drink order and returned shortly with both waters and our drinks. We did not order any specialty drinks this time around but will on a return trip. She asked if we had any questions about the menu or were we ready to order. Our server was very personable and knowledgeable about substitutions allowed for certain dishes.
We chose to start with the Totchos, which is fried tater tots, spicy green chili, crispy pork belly, andouille sausage, and queso. I also ordered a cup of the French Onion Soup. The Totchos were delicious! The French Onion soup had great flavor and could have been served hotter but I would definitely order again! I love a good onion soup!!! For our entrees, Bill had the Brisket and Wild Mushroom Meatloaf, while I had the Wild Mushroom, Chicken Risotto with a substitution...I love risotto but not mushrooms! They were very accommodating and substituted the mushrooms for asparagus. Our server even said that she was going to order it that way for her next meal! Lol. Both of our entrees were excellent and would definitely order again but will probably try something else on the menu, you know, variety being the spice of life, right?! What I liked the most was the pacing of the meals. They were timed perfectly! You had enough time in between courses to not feel rushed and be able to enjoy the food and ambiance. There is a lot to look at and take in. Remember that the menu they currently have is a limited, single use, menu with a nice selection of Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Flatbreads, Pasta, Sandwiches, Hamburgers, and Entrees. The dessert menu is limited as well to just their Specialty Milkshakes, but rest assured, as soon as seating is opened up more, full menus will be offered once again! Which is good because some of the other desserts sound amazing and I have heard that the sundaes are huge!
Which brings me to dessert and the Specialty Milkshakes! You cannot go to Toothsome and NOT have one of their milkshakes!!! There are 11 different shakes and it is so hard deciding on just one! The milkshakes currently available are Thrilla In Vanilla, Red Velvet, Confetti Shake, Marshmallow Crisp, Heavenly Hazelnut, Brownie, Cookie Jar, Espresso Buzzzz, Key Lime Pie, Chocolate X5, and Strawberry Cheesecake! See why we had such a hard time deciding! Ultimately, we chose the Marshmallow Crisp, which was vanilla ice cream, rice crispies, marshmallow fluff, fresh whipped cream, a giant marshmallow and a Rice Crispy Treat on top! Soooooo yummy and would personally recommend it! It was a great way to finish off a wonderful dining experience and we are already looking forward to our next visit!!!
